If it is “written off” (beyond repair), you can continue using your Claimsline courtesy car for another week. This gives you enough time to arrange for a new vehicle.

5. Recoverable losses

Recoverable losses are possessions that were damaged or lost due to the accident. Did any of your possessions (car seats etc.) get damaged during the accident? If so, we will help you identify any recoverable losses and help you claim.

Does your car need repairing after the accident? We’ve got you covered. We have access to a trusted network of manufactured-approved body shops around Nottingham and the UK. The garage will evaluate the damage and repair the vehicle (if they can). We will ensure that you don’t get your vehicle back until it is as good as it was before the accident took place. If your car is “written off” (deemed beyond repair), we will negotiate with the other driver’s insurance company to make sure you’re paid a fair amount.

If your vehicle is deemed beyond reasonable repair (written off), you can continue using your courtesy car for an extra week. We will also negotiate with the other driver’s insurance company to make sure you’re paid a fair amount for having to replace the car.

No excess to pay

Your excess is the amount you'll need to pay up-front if you claim your insurance policy whether you’re at fault or not. When using Claimsline, you won’t have to pay an excess charge because we claim everything back from the third-party insurers on your behalf.

When do I give the car back?

Replacement vehicles are provided for the duration of the repair period. If your vehicle is written off after the accident you can use the replacement vehicle for seven days after receiving cleared payment, allowing you time to purchase a new vehicle.

Do I need to pay for my own fuel?

Our replacement vehicles are usually supplied full of fuel and we only ask that you refill the vehicle with the correct type of fuel before you return it.

How do you define credit-hire?

Credit hire is when a temporary replacement vehicle is provided in the event of a non-fault road car accident, and the credit hire company pays for the car hire while your vehicle is being fixed. They claim any hire charges back from the at-fault driver's insurance company.
